Russia's foreign ministry said in a statement that it had released a list of "permanently barred American citizens" in response to repeated US anti-Russian sanctions and requests for a proper "stop list" of our nationals.

Many new names have been added to the list just three months after Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine. As a result, the country's relations with Washington have continued to deteriorate. The list includes US President Joe Biden, his son Hunter, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Russia has imposed sanctions on a number of US lawmakers and journalists, the document said. Former White House Press Secretary Jane Sackie has been named in the list.

Even high-profile celebrities like Hollywood star Morgan Freeman (84) are on the list.

In the wake of Donald Trump's 2017 election victory and the Russiagate story, Freeman accused Moscow of meddling in US affairs and targeting the country's "democracy."
