From whom can Twitter charge a fee, said Elon Musk

The microblogging and social media platform Twitter can charge a fee on commercial and government or government-controlled accounts. However, the amount will be 'small', Twitter owner Elon Musk said in a tweet on Tuesday. Billionaire entrepreneur Musk's move is part of a drive to increase revenue from Twitter, according to Reuters.


In a tweet on Wednesday, US billionaire Elon Musk said ordinary users would not have to pay to use Twitter.


"Twitter will always be free for ordinary users," Musk tweeted. However, users of government, government-controlled and commercial organizations may have to spend a small amount to use Twitter.


Ever since taking ownership of Twitter, it has been speculated that Elon Musk could change the way Twitter works. Musk also said that Twitter would be better communicated to the people.


There have been rumors that Elon Musk could remove Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal and legal chief Vijaya Gadde to change the way things are done.


Even before using Twitter, Elon Musk has been expressing dissatisfaction with the functioning of the microblogging site. He even claimed that people's freedom of speech was not important enough on Twitter. He blamed Twitter for having multiple ownership.


Elon Musk bought Twitter on March 25. Mask owns the microblogging site for  Four billion four hundred million US dollars.
